Chapter 12 - Cultural Identities and Differences
Teachers' Notes.

6) "Traditional Korea" (Cont'd)
Teachers' Resource  (4 pages)

Version 2: Students (in groups) receive a pack of "Traditional Korea" cards (Teachers' Resource) from the teacher. One person takes a card, and either describes its contents (as in Version 1), or replies "Yes" or "No" to questions put by the other members of the group ("20 Questions).

Version 3: Role-play. Students in pairs have some cards (Teachers' Resource). One student is "the Korean", and the other is "the foreigner". The latter asks "Wh" questions about the pictures on a card, and "the Korean" tries to explain. The "foreigner" tries to be as ignorant as possible of Korean culture and customs - an interesting exercise, helping to show that aspects of life which one takes for granted, can be very confusing to others who don't have the same cultural context.
