Student's book page 47. Performance" - Project-work:

Materials: Student book (click here to see the student's page)
Students: Singly or in groups
Rationale: Project performance
Method: Students perform whatever they have prepared. They also evaluate their own and the other groups' performances ("How was the Project?" "How is my learning?" pages 196, 198)
Notes: ¡¡

Student's book pages 48-49. "Student Needs" - Reflection :

Materials: Student book (1) Student book (2) (click here to see the student page)
Students: Groups or singly
Rationale: Data collection; opinion transfer; reflection on learning needs
Method: The reflective questionnaires which appear at the end of each project are useful for raising awareness of language learning, and for starting the mechanism of reflection on learning. It can be an idea to use for regular reflection, them even if they are not part of the project. Students can enter their own opinions on the questionnaire, but there will be more interaction (and use of the language) if they ask other students, including those in other classes. Having asked a number of students, they can then pool their answers to produce a report about their findings.
Notes: If there is no time for this activity, it can be used at another time when a questionnaire activity might be useful.

REMIND STUDENTS TO FILL IN "MY ATTENDANCE SHEET" (STUDY BANK) FOR THIS LESSON AND THE NEXT LESSON.¡¡

"Evaluation preparation" - Homework:

Materials: Student book  (click here to see the student page)
Students: Groups or singly
Rationale: Students are given information about the Evaluation session and have time to prepare for it
Method: If the teacher and the students would like to have an evaluation session at any time (e.g. at the end of a project), there are many evaluative sheets in the student's book and the teacher's book. Part 3 of the student's book ("Self-assessment") offers various ways for students to check their progress, and it is suggested that they be encouraged to use these regularly: "How is my learning?" (pp. 196-97), "How was the project?"(pp. 198-99), "My project" (p. 200), "My attendance sheet" (p. 215). See the following page for a suggested format for an evaluation session that might come after a project .
Notes: The Evaluation Session is not so much a test as a chance for students to talk about their learning needs, goals and achievements. It is a time in which they can evaluating the course, the Projects, their learning and their future needs. In essence this is a self-assessment session, designed to motivate students to further study. It is also possible for them to bring up things that they want to talk to the teacher about. The teacher can therefore also use this as a diagnosing and counseling session.
