Teacher notes:

The activities for this session presume that many students will not have the WB. Therefore the teacher is asked to supply interactive activities which will immediately get the students talking.

l        Round Table (1): Set up the desks/chairs before the class begins. Make two lines of desks/chairs, facing each other, like a dinner-table.
l        Place one card on each desk/chair.
l        Ask students to talk with the person opposite about the topic on the cards.
n          Method 1: After 1 minute, ask students to move one place to their left (leave the cards on the desk/chair).
n          Method 2: After 1 minute ask students to pass their cards one place to their left.
n          Repeat this process for about 20 to 30 minutes in total.
l        Project Trivia Quiz Give a set of cards (10 or 11) to each group. Students can pick up and answer cards from a pack, or they can distribute the cards and answer them. This is a free-talking activity, with the cards providing stimulation. Therefore, it doesnĄ¯t matter how the cards are used, as long as the students are engaged in active conversation. Encourage students to devise games and to use the cards creatively.
