The course consists of two 75-minute periods each week for 16 weeks. Each period will look at Multimedia and CALL from a specific objective:

  • Period 1 (Classroom NE 401)
This period will be used to investigate ways of using Multimedia in the EFL classroom (computers, computer-generated learning materials, videos, cassettes).

There are a number of assignments suggested for each week. When you complete these assignments, put the results on your online portfolio or on your web page.

In addition to makein a Languag-Learning Webiste, we will make an Online Portfolio. This will be a personal portfolio, containing information about you, your studies, your hobbies, your thoughts, your diary, etc.

Many language teachers make their own websites so that they can share useful teaching materials and teaching links. They also put up games, quizzes, puzzles, tests, assignments and grades for their students. In this course, students will design and make their own websites, which will be linked into the main "class homepage".

As with other aspects of the course, this (amking a website) is not a "proficiency test", but a learning opportunity, in which attitude and effort are the most important factors. Making a website can be difficult and frustrating at times, but it can also be great fun (challenging) and extremely useful.

Students will be shown how to make a website using basic site templates and tutorials that are easily available on the Internet.

It is important to share information and skills with each other. The group presentation will be an opportunity for students to share information and knowledge about useful sites and softwares.

Don't worry, just do your best at all times!
