Learning across the world never stops with satellite broadcasting

There's lots of satellite in the orbit of the space. As you know before, we've already know about the Koreasat which is launched by Korea government. Koreasat 3 is very well-known channel for Education Broadcasting System (EBS). Koreasat 2 and Koreasat 3 are our satellite transmitting EBS and KBS and other public channels. Koreasat 2 is Communication Satellite(CS) broadcasting MBC, SBS and so on.

Otherwise, Koreasat 3 is Broadcast Satellite (BS). This B.S. system has rather stronger signal strength than C.S. system. We can watch some public channels in the overseas for example Japan and East China via Koreasat 3. Because the strength of signal is so strong that we can receive lots of channel out of country. We can receive Koreasat 3 with 45cm offset antenna and Koreasat 2 with 75cm offset. Last year unexpectedly CNN International was transmitted in Koreasat because of the channel encryption.


	You can watch many channels via satellite in South Korea. Panamsat(PAS) is very famous for satellite-biz so far. Panamsat has 2 satellites in the Asia area. We can receive those signal with parabolic antenna, PAS 2 & 8.

Asiasat was established by Rupert Murdoch the media emperor. Hong Kong STAR TV Network and Fox TV, Fox News Channel are his channels. Fox News Channel has 16-hour non-stop Live broadcasting in the HQ's N.Y. It was rather like a news-show not just a formal news like BBC & CNN, SKY News. Generally, Murdoch's channels are almost pay TV, plus rather expensive fee than other channels. The X-Files and The Simpsons are very famous programme in the Fox TV. In Korea, we can watch Asiasat 2 & 3S with more than 1.6meter antenna and FTA (Free to Air) digital receiver.

STAR World : Asiaꡑs first choice for top-rating US entertainment

For audiences across Asia, STAR World is the first choice for top-rating entertainment from the USA. The channel features action and drama series, comedies, talk shows, childrenꡑs programming and live international events. Popular programmes on STAR World include Ally McBeal, Friends, The Practice, NYPD Blue, Dharma & Greg, Frasier, 3rd Rock From The Sun and The Simpsons. The channel also features STARꡑs award-winning investigative news programme, Focus Asia. STAR World is now encrypted by powerVu system, so we should buy special IRD and Smart Card in H.K market. STAR World is broadcasting via Asiasat 3S' C-band coverage.

SKY News : The leading European 24-hour television news service

Sky News, in alliance with Reuters Television, is a 24-hr international channel, providing commentary and in-depth analysis, and the latest information on business, technology, fashion and entertainment. Strictly, SKY News is not available in South Korea because of legal problems. But some of Korean watch it their home. I did. All the programme was pronounced in U.K English regional strong accent. Main News is provided at the top of the every hour on the hour.

MSNBC : Microsoft's Internet power & NBC News' source get connected

MSNBC is NBC's Cable News channel for U.S domestic people. Currently We can not watch MSNBC's 24-hour news service because of beam coverage. MSNBC's satellite beam coverage was not reach to Asia Pacific Area. Also European can't watch it. But sometimes it was broadcasted in Asia Area just short-time during the international ceremony & event, 2000 sydney summer olympics and 1996 Atlanta. Also We can taste some of MSNBC's brief news commentary through CNBC. CNBC is NBC's Financial -only channel the same as Bloomberg & CNNfn.

BBC World : Traditional English News Channels has expanded to Worldwide

BBC is famous for its education biz in the world. BBC has published many English Education Materials and ESL programme to worldwide. BBC has lots of network channels like BBC News, BBC Prime, BBC Sport, BBC Kids.... And BBC World is BBC's World Edition for World News. Originally, most of BBC World's is free to air.

But BBC channels are a little dull and boring compare with CNNI & Fox News. You can watch BBC World via Panamsat 2 C-band 24 hours.
