And the Latest Food Scare Is...Pizza!
Pizza can be a source of goodly amounts of a variety of benficial ingredients, according to scientists and physicians associated with the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH). Despite this, the self-styled consumer group, Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is attacking this American favorite because it can also contain substantial amounts of fat and calories. Depending on the topping, a couple of slices of pizza can provide a substantial portion of the recommended intake of calcium, protein and the B vitamins thiamin, riboflavin and niacin, as well as calories.
And if you get extra veggies like spinach, peppers, and broccoli toppings, you can add vitamins C and A as well. If the crust is made with whole wheat flour, you can add a little more fiber too. But CSPI, also known for demonizing fettucini alfredo, Chinese foods, and movie theater popcorn, prefers to accentuate the negative. "Certainly many Americans are concerned about consuming excess calories and fat," states ACSH president Dr. Elizabeth Whelan. "And of course one can eat too much of any food. But that doesn't mean that pizza, or any other favorite can't be a valuable part of a healthy, balanced diet."

Protect Your Skin
Protect your skin from the sun with a block that screens both UVB and UVA light. Make sure your sunscreen contains both titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Sunblock manufacturers went ballistic about popular ingredients avobenzone or Parsol 1789 when it was discovered that the chemical deteriorates in sunlight. There is no perfect sunblock, but wearing any lotion with a SPF of 15 to 30 is still effective.

Daily Health Tasks
1. Activity should be a daily occurrence. Walk, run or jump for a minimum total of 20 minutes a day.
2. Take a multi-vitamin
3. Protect your skin. Sun block should be applied on face, neck, arms and hands even in the dead of winter. It protects against climatic toxins too. Moisturize skin daily.
4. Eat fruits, vegetables, grains, low-fat dairy products and small amounts of protein. Avoid sweets and other processed foods.
5. Meditate or spend a minimum of five minutes daily in quiet time.
6. Find your spiritual self. Discover what inspires you, raises your level of consciousness, motivates you, and satisfies your soul.
7. Exercise your brain. Read, study, solve problems, and learn new skills. As does the body, the brain atrophies with lack of use.
8. Hug somebody.
