: Business Management Korea had been big economy depression from the 1997, IMF. 2~3 years later, it tend to get better. But again economy depression repeated. So consumers hardly open their wallet. Products in market don't sell well. Then a owner can't give money to employees. Also employees can't buy products. Currency doesn't go on smoothly. A vicious circle of economy is a reason about its depression. Then, in this situation, what do consumers regard to buy. When you go market, what do you usually concerned products? That's Health! Nowadays, in economy depression, the new word is in fashion - "Well-being". News and magazine's article are full of this word. |

| What's that ? Well-being : It is a new life-style that focus on health and peace of mind. More and more people purse this life-style, well-being. We called them "well-being family". They eat fresh healthy-food which is made from non agricultural chemical-vegetables, grains. And they prefer fish to meat, avoid chemical-spices, alcohol, cigarettes, carbonic acid-beverage such as coke. Instead of them, they enjoy to drink wine, herb-tea. Usually, they go fitness-club and yoga-center to make their physical training and mental training after leave their office. In the course of busy-time, they enjoy taking massage, osteopathy (finger-pressure theraphy). Not only appreciating culture-event but also trying to so reports (leisure + sports), weekend-trip. It's boom! "Well-being boom!" No matter what economy depression. The industry focus on well-being family is prosperous ; beauty-care center, yoga, meditation, spa(similar osteopathy), leisure, health care,... etc. These are examples. Hotels and restaurants are crazy about relating well-being product. Even, the magazine about well-being life published. According to report of Hyundai department store, these (non-agricultural chemical, culture center, yoga class, exercise-fashion, the Royal court food, an air cleaner,...) are best-seller this year. The result based on topic, spreading and contribution. Why we are eagar to well-being?
Progressing quality of life, 5days work/week, naturalism,... these are reason, maybe. But this kind of Boom also has a the other side. According to mass-media, a essence changed. Mental ownership of well-being is likely to twist as the wealthy classes culture. Mass-media introduce expensive product to imitate well-being family. And method of well-being is monotony. There's no formula pursuing freedom life. Not too much money! Live happy! It's a real well-being style. Moreover, we expect the well-being family that is concerned about environmental problem and the poor problem making healthy food, fresh air and clean water. |
