These actions may seem slow, but they're a great way of staying in shape, physically and mentally!

Lifting the large stone.

  • Begin as at the end of movement 3, legs together, hands cupped in front of the body, just below the navel.
  • Send the left leg out as in the picture (below), at the same time raising the hands (still cupped) to chin height.
Hands and arms describe a large circle, as they move out to the sides, then down, finally reaching the position in the picture (left). As the hands move down, the knees also bend. Breathe in during these actions.
  • Raise both arms to the front, holding their position, as if lifting a large stone. As you raise them, kepp the body in an upright position, and straighten the legs (breathe out).
  • Your arms will come to chin height at the end of this sequence. Continue as before, describing a circle and lifting the large stone (8 times)
