The white monkey holds up the fruit

As you finish the first movement, hands will be by your sides, and legs will be together.

  1. Turn to the left (45 degrees) and raise both arms (extended), shoulder high. Start breathing in.
  2. Bring the arms back (bend the elbows) to the shoulders, with palms facing in front of you.
  3. As your arms begin to describe a circle (back to the shoulders, then down and forward), raise the left leg,bent at the knee (picture, below left).
  4. Extend the leg before placing the heel, then the whole foot on the ground (picture, below right).
  5. Rock forward onto the left leg, raising the right leg in front (picture left) and bringing both arms up as if holding a tray of fruit. Breathe out during this movement.
  6. Place the right leg on the ground, behind the left leg (original position) and rock back onto the right leg, performing the arm movements as in #2 & 3 (above). Breathe in.
  7. Repeat movement #5.Breathe out.
  8. Place the right leg on the ground, behind the left leg (original position) and rock back onto the right leg, turning to face the front, and bringing both legs together. Arms describe a circle while this happens, coming to rest by your sides.Breathe out.
  9. Repeat movements #1 - 8. turning 45 degrees to the right.
